| IN THIS GALLERY WE LOOK AT BUSES THAT HAVE MOVED ON OR WERE USED FOR SPARE PARTS.
Bristol RELL ex Citybus 2568 ( BXI 2568 ). Owned by Ben Simpson was acquired from its previous owner after suffering engine failure. It was acquired for spare parts and was not in a good state. Originally we had planned to restore the chassis for show but this was not achievable due to other constraints. Leyland Leopard ex Ulsterbus 1526 ( DOI 1526 ). Owned by J Thompson. Found to have major rot in the body and chassis, 1526 was thus deemed unsuitable for restoration and was sold on for scrap to Trainor's of Castlewellan. Leyland Leopard ex Ulsterbus 173 ( VOI 173 ). Owned by J Thompson It was found that this vehicle had a bad chassis and was not worth restoring. Having a good body a decision was taken to break it up and in doing so has provided the group with many spares for years to come. Its engine has already been put too good use in 182, one of the groups many leopards. ( PIB 3673 ) a Plaxton Elite Leyland leopard.
